Badgers Wanuch places first at Western Open

LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University men's and women's cross country teams had a strong showing at the 2009 Western Open with the men's team placing third and the women finishing fourth overall.

For the Brock men, rookie standout Nathan Wanuch placed first overall winning in a time of 19:08 in the shortened 6km men's race. Second year Kevin Moore had one of his best performances finishing in fourth in a time of 19:22. Rounding out the Badgers top five were Cas Sica (22nd - 21:23), Chris Devries (23rd - 21:24), and Derek Moore (31st - 22:02).

Leading the Brock women was newcomer Erin Sukkau who placed 6th overall in a time of 15:15 in the 4km course. The final four Brock placings were Jessica Bozzo (21st - 16:15), Courtney Workman (22nd - 16:16), Brittany Dunbar (24th - 16:20) and Katrina Massey (27th - 16:52).
