MacDonald wins gold at Sunkist Open

PHOENIX, ARIZ - The Brock wrestling team had a few wrestlers compete at the Arizona Sunkist Open this past weekend.

Jessie MacDonald had a very successful debut at 48kg winning the Sunkist Open by defeating a couple of strong wrestlers along the way in Alyssa Lampe (No. 2 in the USA) as well as handling No. 2 in Canada Lindsay Rushton.

Diana Ford finished third at 51kg with a 3-1 record. Michelle Fazzari (59kg) and Jasmine Mian (48kg) both finished fifth overall.

On the men's side, Jake Hergenhein was the top Brock finisher placer finishing 5th overall at 55kg.

C.J. Hudson, Ryan Weicker both went 2 and 2 at 66kg while Chris Laverick won three matches at 74kg.
