Women's Volleyball captures bronze at McMaster Invitational

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team captured a bronze medal at the 2009 McMaster Invitational to end their pre-season with a 7-3 record.

In three matches at McMaster, the Badgers posted a 2-1 record with victories over Laurier (3-0) – 25-16, 25-15, 25-23 and Guelph (3-1) – 25-20, 25-18, 24-26, 25-15. Their lone loss came against the host Marauders (3-2) – 20-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-23, 12-15.

Senior Erin Mercer (Rockwood, Ont.) and junior Katelyn Giesbrecht (Virgil, Ont.) were named to the All-Tournament Team.
