Women's Volleyball falls in five to Queen's
KINGSTON, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (9-6 OUA) ended their four game winning streak with a 3-2 loss versus the Queen's Gaels Saturday night on the road. (23-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-13, 13-15).
Brock lost the first two games of the match, before bouncing back and winning games three and four to force a game five. In game five, the Badgers dropped a 15-13 decision. Five of the Badgers six losses this season have been decided in five games.
Leading the Brock attack was junior Shannon Anderson (Newmarket, Ont.) who recorded 13 kills and 14 digs for the double-double. Senior Erin Mercer (Rockwood, Ont.) also registered the double-double finishing with 10 kills and 14 digs. Junior setter Ally Fast (St. Catharines, Ont.) collected 33 assists and 14 digs for her 12th double-double of the campaign.
For the Gaels, Natalie Gray led all scorers with a game high 16 kills and 21 digs. Colleen Ogilvie contributed with 15 kills while Lorna Button and Katie Matthews chipped in with 12 kills each.
