Women's Volleyball drops 3-1 decision to Mustangs
LONDON, Ont. - The Brock University women's volleyball team (3-4 OUA) dropped a 3-1 decision to the Western Mustangs on the road Sunday afternoon (12-25, 25-21, 22-25, 19-25).
As a team Western hit an impressive .364 registering a match high 69 kills with 14 errors on 151 attempts. Brock hit just .202 in the contest adding 36 kills and 14 errors on 109 attempts.
Western used a balanced offense led by Elaine Screaton who recorded a match high 17 kills. Sarah Morrow contributed with 16 kills while Sarah Farrell and Caleigh Whitaker chipped in with 10 kills each. Whitaker also added 15 kills for the double-double.
Leading the Badgers was senior Katelyn Giesbrecht (Virgil, Ont.) who registered 10 kills. Junior Shannon Anderson (Newmarket, Ont.) and senior Erin Mercer (Rockwood, Ont.) both added eight kills each in the loss.
The Badgers next action is November 21st when they travel to Thunder Bay to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Brock returns home on November 27th and 28th when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues and York Lions at the Bob Davis Gymnasium to end the first half of the regular season.
