2007: In her freshman season, Van Bakel made an
immediate impact with the Badgers setting a new school single
season record for goals adding six in 14 games, which included the
game winning goal versus Western (09/09/2007)... recorded her first
Canadian Interuniversity Sport goal in the Badgers 4-0 victory over
the Guelph Gryphons (09/02/2007).

2008: As a sophomore, Van Bakel helped lead the Badgers to the OUA bronze and a school best CIS silver medal finish at the CIS National Championships... was tied for the team lead in goals with a career high six goals... recorded two game winning goals versus Western (09/21/2008) during the regular season and against Cape Breton (11/06/2008) at the Nationals... was named an OUA first-team all star for the first time in her career and was selected to the CIS Championship All-Tournament Team.

2009: As a junior, Van Bakel continued to be the Badgers offensive leader as she led the team in scoring and ranked among the top 20 in the OUA with five goals...was named an OUA first-team all star for the second time in her career and was selected as a CIS 2nd Team All-Canadian, just the third player in school history to earn that honour.
