Women's Soccer blanks Mustangs 2-0

LONDON, Ont. - The No. 4 ranked Brock University women's soccer team (4-0-1) blanked the Western Mustangs 2-0 on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Badgers opened the scoring 11 minutes into the game on a goal from senior Ali Gartley (Camlachie, Ont.), her second of the season.

Two minutes into the second half, junior Cassandre Van Bakel (Aurora, Ont.) extended her point streak to three games as she recorded her team leading fourth goal of the season. She is also tied for first in OUA scoring. 

The Badgers currently rank second in the OUA in goals for with 14 averaging 2.8 per game. They also are tied for the conference lead in goals against having allowed just two goals in five games (0.40 GAA).

In goal junior Syreeta Rhoden (Niagara Falls, Ont.) recorded her fourth victory and third shutout of the season.

The Badgers next action is Sunday at 1pm when they take on the Windsor Lancers on the road.
