No. 4 ranked Badgers down Waterloo 6-1

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's soccer team (3-0-1 OUA) got goals from five different players in a 6-1 home victory over the Waterloo Warriors Sunday afternoon.

The Badgers took an early 1-0 lead just three minutes in when senior Lisa D'Aguanno (Richmond Hill, Ont.) scored off a header on a Cassandre Van Bakel (Aurora, Ont.) corner kick.

Van Bakel put the Badgers up 3-0 on back-to-back goals in the 12th and 17th minutes. These were her career leading 14th and 15th goals.

Senior Ali Gartley (Camlachie, Ont.) recorded her first goal of the season in the 20th minute as she beat Waterloo netminder Taylor Meyers.

With less than five minutes remaining in the first half, Brock freshman Lindsay McDonald (Burlington, Ont.)  would drive down the left hand side past the Waterloo defense and on the run buried a shot into the top right hand corner over the head of Meyers.

In the 44th minute, third year midfielder Laura Tirone (Welland, Ont.) would drive a shot from 22 yards out past Meyers for her second of the season.
