Brock women's rugby blanked by No. 2 ranked Gryphons 68-0
GUELPH, Ont. - The Brock University women's rugby team (1-3 OUA) dropped a 68-0 decision to the No. 2 nationally ranked Guelph Gryphons Saturday afternoon on the road.
Leading the Guelph offense were Caitlin Beaton, Morganne Linthwaite and Britt Benn who all chipped in with two trys each. Stephanie Tibelius connected with nine converts for 18 points to lead all scorers.
With the victory, the high powered offensive Gryphons improve to 4-0 and have now outscored their opponents 347-8.
With the loss, Brock falls to 1-3 with one regular season game remaining at home October 7th at 1pm against the Laurier Golden Hawks which will have big playoff implications.
With one week left in the regular season, Guelph sits atop of the OUA Shiels Division at 4-0, with Waterloo in second place at 2-2, Western and Brock are tied for third with identical 1-3 records and Laurier sits in last with an 0-4 record.
