Women's Rugby blanked by No. 2 ranked Gryphons
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's rugby team ended the regular season with a 94-0 loss against the No. 2 nationally ranked Guelph Gryphons. Despite the loss, the Badgers finish in third place in the OUA Shiels division with a 2-3 record posting victories over Western and Laurier. Brock will now take on Waterloo in the OUA quarter-finals on October 16th.
Leading Guelph was Britt Benn who recorded 24 points including two tries and seven converts. She finishes the OUA regular season ranked first overall in conference scoring with 99 points. Jacey Murphy added three more tries for an OUA leading 17 on the season. Mary-Jane Kirby also contributed with three tries while Mirela Rahneva and Brianna Newman chipped in with two scores each in the victory.
