Women's Rugby falls to Warriors 24-17
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's rugby team battled the Waterloo Warriors Saturday afternoon at home only to come out on the short end by the score of 24-17.
In the second half with the score deadlocked 17-17, the Badgers defense was outstanding coming up with many key tackles to keep the game tied.
In the final two minutes, Waterloo answered with the eventual game winning try. Leading the Warriors offense was E Vargas with two trys. Amanda Gingerich and K McAlpine each contributed with one. M McGuire rounded out the scoring with two converts.
For the Badgers, rookie Michelle Eisner (Richmond Hill, Ont.), junior Nicole Kovacs (Welland, Ont.) and first year Elizabeth Monkman (Brampton, Ont.) all added single trys in the loss.
