Women's Rugby rolls past Golden Hawks 50-0

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's rugby team (1-1 OUA) used a balanced offense as they rolled past the Laurier Golden Hawks by the score of 50-0 in their season homeopener Saturday afternoon.

Leading the Badgers offense were seniors Sarah Maynard (Cannington, Ont.) and Leah Yeomans (Napanee, Ont.) who led all scorers with 10 points each. Maynard recorded two trys while Yeomans connected on five converts.

Stefanie Pavlovich (Stoney Creek, Ont.), Victoria Nolan (Trenton, Ont.), Jocelyn Fenwick (Napanee, Ont.), Allison Mancini (Burlington, Ont.), Marico Reilly (Pickering, Ont.) and Ashley Mayers (Courtice, Ont.) each recorded one try in the victory.

The Badgers next action is September 26th when they travel to Guelph to take on the No 3 ranked University of Guelph Gryphons.
