Valley steps down as Brock Women's Rugby Head Coach

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Dan Valley, head coach of the Brock Badgers women's rugby program has decided to step down after two seasons at the helm to continue his education.

Valley took over as the head coach of the Badgers in 2008 where in his first season earned OUA Shiels Division Coach of the Year, leading the Badgers to a 3-1-1 regular season, good for second in the Shiels Division. He also helped the Badgers crack the Top 10 rankings in the CIS.

During his two seasons, Valley had six of his student-athletes reach OUA provincial all-star status with one being selected as the Shiels Division Rookie of the Year.

“We are very sorry that Dan Valley is leaving the coaching ranks here at Brock," said Assistant Athletic Director Chris Critelli. "Since Dan has been on board he has elevated the sport of rugby to another level.  We certainly are pleased that Dan is pursuing his dreams, as he wants to continue his education either in Canada or abroad in the field of coaching.  I know the athletes will miss Dan and everything he has brought to the field.”

The search for a new Head Coach will begin immediately.
