Getting to Know Your Badgers - Jessica Fickel
Throughout the spring and summer months we will catch up with many of the Badgers top returning athletes for the 2011-12 season as part of the Getting to Know Your Badgers.
Our first student-athlete who we had the chance to ask a few questions to was Brock Women's Hockey rookie standout Jessica Fickel (Fort Erie, Ont.) who helped lead the Badgers to their best finish in school history in 2010-11.
Why did you decide to come to Brock?
I decided to come to Brock because it was close to my hometown, it offered the program I wanted to study and I received scholarships to go there. It was also an opportunity to play CIS hockey.
What is one thing that most people don't know about you?
I have an obsession with maple syrup.
What has been the best moment of your Brock career, thus far?
The best moment of my Brock career was scoring the shootout winner against Laurier to beat them for the first time in Brock Women's Hockey History which also led to me being named CIS Female Athlete of the Week.
Who has been the most influential person in your life?
The most influential people in my life are my parents who are always there supporting me and helping me do the best I can do in life.
What is your favorite thing to do on team road trips?
On team road trips I enjoy watching movies and chilling with my teammates.
