Women's Hockey drops 10-2 decision to No. 10 Gryphons

GUELPH, Ont. - The Brock University women's hockey team (4-10-2 OUA) ended the first half of the regular season with a 10-2 loss to the No. 10 ranked Guelph Gryphons. This was the Badgers sixth straight loss and eighth in their last nine games.

After allowing four goals on 19 shots in the first period, Brock senior goalkeeper Beth Clause (Hamilton, Ont.) was pulled for the first time this season giving rookie Kim Jory (Brandon, MB) her university debut. In her first career game, Jory allowed six goals on 28 shots.

Leading the Gryphons offense was Erin Small who recorded a natural hat trick and the eventual game winner which was a shorthanded goal 15:10 into the first period. Patricia Rose Harris chipped in with two goals while Jody Hodgins and Kandace Charbonneau rounded out the Guelph leaders contributing with three assists each in the victory.

Scoring for Brock were Melissa Geary and Rachel Piotrowski.
