Women's Hockey drops 2-0 decision to Western
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's hockey team (4-6-1 OUA) dropped a 2-0 decision to the Western Mustangs Sunday afternoon at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
Western opened the scoring 9:58 into the first period when Katie Dillon set up Ellie Seedhouse who beat Brock senior Beth Clause (Hamilton, Ont.) for her team leading 8th goal of the season.
Brock recorded their second lowest shot total of the season as Western goalkeeper Lindsey Martin turned away all 16 shots for the shutout, her first of the season. It was also the first game this season that Brock allowed less than 30 shots against giving up just 24.
With Clause pulled in the final minute, Brock would look to tie the game but it was Western's Lindsay Gidomski adding her second of the season with the empty netter at 19:43 to secure the victory.
The Badgers next action is Saturday, November 21st at 7:30pm when they host the Waterloo Warriors at the Seymour-Hannah Centre. On November 22nd they are on the road against the first place Laurier Golden Hawks.
