Women's Hockey blanks Ridgebacks 2-0

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Brock University women's hockey team (8-10-3 OUA) captured their third straight victory as they shutout the UOIT Ridgebacks by the score of 2-0 on the road Friday night. Senior Beth Clause (Hamilton, Ont.) recorded 37 saves for the shutout.

Brock opened the scoring 2:47 into the second period as Amber Wilson (Brantford, Ont.) and Kelly Walker (Brampton, Ont.) setup Maggie Matheson (Kingston, Ont.) for her fourth goal of the season.

Courtney Sutherland (Mount Forest, Ont.) would end her 19-game scoring slump as she beat UOIT netminder Jessica Larabie for her second goal of the campaign.

In goal, Clause played in her 5000th career minute as a Badger as she closes in on 2500 career saves ending the night with 2487 just 13 shy of the milestone.

The Badgers next action is January 23rd at 2:30 pm when they travel to Kingston to take on the Queen's Gael.
