Women's Hockey blanked by York 1-0 in overtime

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University women's hockey team (4-8-2 OUA) lost for the six time in their last seven games as they dropped a 1-0 overtime decision to the York Lions at the Seymour-Hannah Centre Saturday afternoon.

With the loss Brock still sits in a tie for 6th place in the OUA standings with just four points separating 4th to 10th place.

The month of November has not been a good one for the Badgers as they have recorded just three points out of a possible 14 while registering just six goals in seven games, less than a goal a game. During the month, last year's leading scorer and team captain Kelly Walker (Brampton, Ont.) has gone scoreless in six of the seven games including the past five.

Saturday afternoon was much of the same as the Badgers could not solve York goaltender Sydney McMurter who recorded 27 saves for the shutout. Brock's Beth Clause (Hamilton, Ont.) recorded 30 saves in the loss.

York's lone goal came 1:13 into overtime as Katrina Tollis beat Clause for her second of the season and first game wining goal.

The Badgers next action is Sunday afternoon at 4pm when they host the University of Toronto Varsity Blues at the Seymour-Hannah Centre.
