Senior duo leads Badgers past Bishop's 87-78

MONTREAL - The Brock University women's basketball team (6-2 OUA, 10-3 overall) improved to 2-0 at the University of Montreal Tournament as they defeated the Bishop's Gaiters by the score of 87-78 Tuesday afternoon.

Leading the Badgers offense was the senior duo of Lauren Stewart (Hamilton, Ont.) and Whitney Gorges (Welland, Ont.) who combined for 45 points. Stewart led all scorers with a game high 25 points including 17 in the second half while shooting 75.0% (9-for-12) from the field. Gorges registered 20 points and eight rebounds.

Also in double figures was sophomore Emily McKay (Toronto, Ont.) who added 16 points and seven rebounds.
