Del Signore leads Badgers over York 73-46

TORONTO, Ont. - The Brock University women's basketball team (6-1 overall, 4-0 OUA) extended their regular season win streak to four games as they rolled past the York Lions by the score of 73-46 Saturday night on the road.

The Badgers led by two points at the half 28-26, before outscoring the Lions 27-9 in the third quarter to take a commanding 55-35 after 30 minutes. Brock's defense kept York to just 20 points in the second half as they shot a dismal 26.0% (13-for-50) from the field for the game.

As a team Brock shot 37.0% (27-for-73) from the field which included 13-for-19 (68.4%) from beyond the arc.

Sophomore Jessica Del Signore (Brantford, Ont.) had a career performance registering a career high 27 points which included tying the Badgers single game record for three-pointers in a game with seven as she was an impressive 7-for-8 from beyond the arc.

Seniors Whitney Gorges (Welland, Ont.) and Britt Pegg (Weyburn, Sask.) both contributed with 13 points and seven rebounds each in the victory.    

Brock returns to action at home next Friday and Saturday when they host the Toronto Varsity Blues (6pm - Nov. 20) and the Ryerson Rams (2pm - Nov. 21) at the Bob Davis Gymnasium.
