Balanced offense leads Badgers over Waterloo 73-52

WATERLOO - The Brock University womens basketball team (8-5 OUA) ended their three game losing streak with a 73-52 victory over the University of Waterloo Warriors Wednesday night on the road.

Brock had four players in double figures led by senior Britt Pegg (Weyburn, Sask.) who recorded a game high 16 points including a career best 4-for-4 from beyond the arc. Sophomore Emily McKay (Toronto, Ont.) contributed with 12 points while junior Hillary Woodside (Fall River, NS) and senior Whitney Gorges (Welland, Ont.) added 10 points each in the victory.

Leading Waterloo was Reanne Holden who registered 12 points. Also in double figures was Laura Becotte and Stephanie Shea who chipped in with 10 points each. 

The Badgers shot 38.6% (27-for-70) from the field including a season high 13 three-pointers. Waterloo was held to 32.1% 18-for-56 from the field.

The Badgers next action is Saturday, January 23rd at 1:00pm when they play host to the No. 2 ranked Windsor Lancers (12-1 OUA). In their last meeting, the Badgers dropped an 80-73 overtime decision at Windsor.
