2009-10 Swim Team Tryouts

Any Brock University student with competitive swimming experience may try out for the Brock Badgers varsity swim team. Note that there is a minimum swimming level expectation, and team members must commit to practice and competition attendance.

Practices start Tuesday, September 8^th. All potential 2009-2010 swimmers are to meet in front of the change room entrance in outdoor dryland gear at the varsity practice times listed below. These sessions will focus on fitness, running, and land work; good running shoes are a necessity. Please arrive at the first session with a good base level of fitness.

As noted above, our initial information meeting will be on Friday morning, September 11^th; 6:45-7:45 AM in Welsh Hall 207. At this meeting you must hand in a completed athlete information form (available from the Badger website by then) and the $20 athletic therapy fee (cash or cheque payable to Brock University) in order to try out. You will also need to bring a writing utensil and basic information such as your student number. You may also wish to have your current academic schedule on hand. We will hand out our finalized training and competition schedule at this time; and discuss our swim season, team events, and athletic department policies. 

We start into the water on Monday, September 14^th. Minimum swimming standard of 4x200@3:15 will be done on Friday September 18^th. Roster will be finalized by October 4^th at the latest.
