Brock Rowers show strong performance at Royal Canadian Henley Regatta

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock men's and women's rowing teams continued their success this summer at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. The Royal Canadian Henley Regatta took place from August 3rd - 8th in St. Catharines, Ontario. Rowers come from across North America and the world to compete in the six day pinnacle event of the summer rowing circuit and Canadian Club Championship.

Brock rowers competed in nine Championship crews with seven Badgers winning in multiple events. The most impressive performance came from Megan Tucker who won four Henley Golds in the Senior and Under 23 Women’s 8+’s and 4-‘s.

The 2009 Canadian University Lighweight 4+ Championship crew combination of Ben Cushnie, Brendan Coffey, Sylas Coletto, and former Badger Corey Brunton won 3 events, the Senior Lightweight Men’s 8+, Dash 8+, and the Senior Lightweight Men’s 4-.

Brock Badger 2010 Canadian Henley Champions were: Senior Lightweight Men’s 4-, 8+ Ben Cushnie, Brendan Coffey, Sylas Coletto, and former Badger Corey Brunton, as well as in the Dash 8+ with former Badger Karlene Willmott as cox. In the Senior and U23 Women’s 8+ Megan Tucker, Britt Ellis, and Shawn Bright, as well as Megan Tucker in the Senior and U23 Women’s 4-. In the Senior Lightweight Women’s 8+ Kate Nay, Natasha Eiklenboom, Teresa Hill, Michelle Head, Jenna Burke, and former Badger Carla Edwards. In the Senior Men’s Dash 8+ Josh Gracin, Jake Martens, Thomas Morley, Dave VanGoolen, Terry Lovegrove, Aaron Huybens, Alexsia Dekaneas, and incoming recruit Mark Alm.
