Brock wrestlers compete at Greater Toronto Open

TORONTO, Ont. - The Brock University men's and women's wrestling team competed this past weekend at the Greater Toronto Open. The Brock women finished third overall with the Brock men placing fourth.

Brock Club wrestler Jake Hergenhein placed first overall at 57kg posting a perfect 3-0 record. Placing second overall for the Brock men were Michio Clark (54kg), Nick Rowe (65kg) and Chris Laverick (76kg). Other top perfomances from the Badgers was John Cottrill placing third at 65kg and Spencer Bruch finishing fourth at 90kg.

Michelle Fazzari made her return to the Badgers lineup defeating Western's Larissa D'Alleva in the finals to capture gold at 63kg. A trio of Badgers finished third in their respective weight class including; Stephanie Riopel (51kg), Alexis Kilroy (63kg) and Marissa Sorell (67kg). Rounding out the Badgers top finishers was Natasha Chang who placed fourth overall at 63kg.
