Hergenhein places 9th at 2010 World Junior Wrestling Championships

Brock University club wrestler Jake Hergenhein finished 9th at the 2010 World Junior Wrestling Championships this past weekend finishing with an overall record of 2-2. He was Canada's highest placing on the men's side.

Hergenheing started the worlds with convincing wins over Aleksei Baskakov of Estonia and Chakir Ansari of France.  In the quarter-finals he was defeated by eventual silver medallist Toghrul Asgarov of Azaerbaijan. He then lost a close battle with eventual bronze medallist Abdelhakim Mohamed Ibrahim Farag of Egypt.

Hergenhein, who is a member of the Brock Wrestling Club has a very bright future in the sport and will move on to Senior competition with the hopes of competing for Canada at the Olympic Games.
