Men's Soccer ties Golden Hawks 1-1
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's soccer team (1-1-1 OUA) tied the visiting Laurier Golden Hawks 1-1 Saturday afternoon in front of 250 fans in their OUA homeopener.
Laurier controlled the play early on and opened the scoring in the 28th minute on a goal from Scott Carson, his first of the season.
Brock goalkeeper Judon Gregory (Mississauga, Ont.) kep the Badgers in the game coming up with some spectacular saves in the second half. Gregory also got some luck as Laurier hit two posts and a crossbar. He finished the game with a career high 13 saves giving him 33 on the season.
The Laurier defense stunned the Badgers offense the majority of the contest, until the 79th minute when sophomore forward Dan Baldassarro (Niagara Falls, Ont.) buried a shot behind Golden Hawks keeper Ben Goes. This was his team leading second goal of the season.
