Men's Rugby captures OUA bronze with 21-17 victory

MARKHAM, Ont. - The Brock University men's rugby team capped off the 2009 season with a 21-17 victory over the McMaster Marauders in the OUA bronze medal game Saturday afternoon at Fletcher's Field.

Leading the Badgers offense was Ryan MacSween (Scarborough, Ont.) who recorded two tries and Matt Alexander (Oshawa, Ont.) adding a single try. Rory McDonell (Brantford, Ont.) added six points connecting on all three-convert attempts for the victory.

Brock finishes the 2009 season with an overall record of 8-3. Since taking over as head coach in 2004, Les Gilson has led the Badgers to one gold and three bronze medals in six seasons. He has posted an OUA regular season record of 30-12 (.714) and overall record including playoffs of 40-18 (.690).
