Men's Lacrosse rolls past Western 11-6

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (3-0 CUFLA) outscored the Western Mustangs 6-1 in the final half on route to an 11-6 victory Saturday afternoon at home.

The Badgers went into the half tied 5-5, before answering with three straight to open the third quarter taking an 8-5 lead.  Western's Taylor Rivers would beat rookie Brett Kikot (Toronto, Ont.) to make it a two goal game with five minutes left in the third. With just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Brock rookie Mike Lum Walker (Ajax, Ont.) would put the Badgers up by three once again as he broke through the Western defense and buried a shot past netminder Marc-Thomas Nano for his first goal of his university career.

Leading the Badgers offense was senior Matt Evans (Peterborough, Ont.) who led all players with the natural hat trick. Mike MacLeod (Owen Sound, Ont.) added two goals with single markers coming from Lum Walker, Mike Bentivenga (Burlington, Ont.), Reed Board (Brampton, Ont.), Devon Sartor (Niagara on the Lake, Ont.), Jordan Weedmark (Carleton Place, Ont.) and Tim Sawa (Mississauga, Ont.).

In goal, Kikot recorded 10 saves for his third straight victory.
