Men's Lacrosse opens season with 9-6 victory

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's lacrosse team (1-0 CUFLA), under first year head coach Justin Kennedy, opened the 2009 season with a 9-6 victory over the McMaster Marauders at home Saturday afternoon.

Leading the Badgers offense was senior Todd Duncan (Toronto, Ont.) who led all scorers with five points adding two goals and three assists. Senior Matt Evans (Peterborough, Ont.) and freshman Dustin Dunn (Peterborough, Ont.) both chipped in with two goals each with singles going to senior Tim Sawa (Mississauga, Ont.), junior Chris Nash (Toronto, Ont.) and junior Reed Board (Brampton, Ont.).

In goal, freshman Brett Kikot (Toronto, Ont.) recorded six saves for his first career victory.

The Badgers next action is Sunday when they take on the defending CUFLA Champions the Guelph Gryphons. Game time is 7pm at Laurier as part of the 2009 Great Canadian LAX BASH.
