Men's Hockey defeats Lancers 2-1

WINDSOR, Ont. - The Brock University men's hockey team (2-0-0 OUA) recorded their second straight victory as they defeated the Windsor Lancers 2-1 at the Windsor Arena Friday night.

Brock opened the scoring 16:31 into the first period when junior Steve Pattison (Red Deer, AB) and sophomore Dan Dooley (Saint John, NB) set up freshman Joe Tolles (Toledo, OH) who beat Windsor netminder Jim Watt for his first career goal as a Badger.

Pattison would register his second point of the night 5:42 into the second period when he found the back of the net behind Watt with a shorthanded marker. Junior Vince Scott (Mississauga, Ont.) and sophomore Steve Miller (Thunder Bay, Ont.) recorded assists on the goal.

With seven seconds remaining in the third period, Windsor's Danny Anger would break Brock freshman netminder Mark Yetman's (Mount Pearl, NL) shutout adding his first goal of the season.

In goal, Yetman recorded a career high 33 saves for his second victory in as many games. The Lancers Jim Watt suffered the loss registering 26 saves.

The Badgers next action is Saturday night in London when they battle the defending Queen's Cup Champion Western Mustangs.
