Despite the plethora of chances, Tommy Lee (Port Perry, Ont.) managed to hold UQTR to a single goal, which came midway through the period as Francis Charland was allowed to walk out from the corner on the power play.

Mathieu Simoneau extended the Patriotes lead to two, as he walked off the half boards and blasted a cannon by Lee. Only a minute later UQTR was back at it with Boutin and Alexandre Demers walking in on a 2-on-1 with Boutin receiving the feed to make it a 3-0 game.

In the final stanza, Brock picked up the pace and began to press UQTR. Although Brock began to control the play Samuel Beland was able to hammer home a loose puck putting UQTR ahead 4-0.
