MBB: Marauders roll past Brock 104-60
HAMILTON, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team (9-8 OUA West) lost for the eighth straight time against the McMaster Marauders (12-5 OUA West) dropping a 104-60 decision Wednesday night at the Burridge Gymnasium in Hamilton.
McMaster opened the game with an 18-2 run in the first five minutes and led 56-23 at the half. In the first four minutes of the third quarter, McMaster held Brock to just two points while putting together an 11-2 run leading by as many as 42 points.
In two games this season versus Brock, the Marauders have recorded 207 points (103.5 PPG).
The Marauders had six players in double figures led by Victor Raso who led all scorers with 18 points and five assists. Joe Rocco added 15 points while Cam Michaud and Adam Presutti contributed with 14 points each. Nathan McCarthy was one rebound shy of a double-double adding 11 points and nine rebounds. Aaron Redpath rounded out the McMaster leaders finishing with 10 points.
For the Badgers, senior Andrew Kraus (Markham, Ont.) was the lone Badger in double figures finishing with 15 points and five assists. Tshing Kasamba (St. Catharines, Ont.), Didi Mukendi (St. Catharines, Ont.) and Michael Williams (Brampton, Ont.) all added eight points each in the loss.
The Badgers were once again without starters Jameson Tipping (Orangeville, Ont.) and Mark Gibson (Toronto, Ont.).
For the game, Brock shot just 33.9% (21-for-62) from the field. McMaster shot 55.1% (38-for-69) from the field, highlighted by 47.6% from beyond the arc going 10-for-21. The Marauders forced the Badgers to 25 turnovers, which led to 43 points off turnovers.
The Badgers next action is Saturday, February 4th when they travel to London to take on the Western University Mustangs.
