Men's Basketball falls to Dalhousie 79-68
WATERLOO, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team (0-0
OUA, 0-2 overall) dropped a 79-68 decision against the Dalhousie
Tigers in the opening game of the Laurier Invitational.
Brock trailed 46-30 at the half which they could not recover from.
They would go on a late 12-2 run to close it within 11 points in
the final three minutes.
Freshman Clinton Springer-Williams (London, Ont.) led the Badgers
with 15 points and seven rebounds despite going just 3-for-10 from
the field. Sophomore Didi Mukendi (St. Catharines, Ont.) was the
other Brock player in double digits adding 10 points in the
loss.
Dalhousie's Mari Peoples-Wong led all scorers finishing with 21
points and six rebounds. Joseph Schow registered the double-double
collecting 15 points and 14 rebounds while Simon Farine rounded out
the Tigers scoring contributing with 14 points.
Brock shot just 34.4% (21-for-61) from the field while Dalhousie
shot 46.6% (27-for-58) which included 50.0% (6-for-12) from beyond
the arc.
The Badgers next acton is Saturday afternoon when they take on the Winnipeg Wesmen at the Laurier Invitational Tournament.
