Springer-Williams named OUA West Rookie of the Year

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Brock University men's basketball player Clinton Springer-Williams (London, Ont.) has been selected as the 2009-10 OUA West Rookie of the Year. He was also chosen as an OUA West first team all-star and all-rookie team.

In his rookie season with the Badgers, Springer-Williams finished fifth in CIS and third in OUA scoring averaging 21.2 PPG while leading all rookies. He has reached double figures in 30 of 31 games including 13 20+ point, six 30+ point and a career high 40-point performance in his final game of the season. He also collected four double-doubles.

He ended the 2009-10 season ranked in the OUA top ten in three other offensive categories FG Made (5th - 143), FT Made (4th - 121) and FT% (8th - 82.3%)..

In the Brock record books, Springer-Williams moved into the Top 10 in three single season categories including scoring (5th - 21.8 PPG), FT Made (7th - 173) and points (8th - 676). He also became just the third rookie in Brock school history to lead the team in scoring joining head coach Ken Murray and teammate Didi Mukendi.
