Men's Basketball knocks off No. 8 Lancers 80-79

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team (6-8 OUA) knocked off the No. 8 ranked Windsor Lancers by the score of 80-79 at the Bob Davis Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

With Windsor leading 79-77, Brock rookie standout Clinton Springer-Williams (London, Ont.) hit a clutch three-pointer with 2.8 seconds left in regulation to secure the victory.

Brock had three players in double figures led by Springer Williams who finished with 20 points and nine rebounds. Senior Mike Cruickshank (Toronto, Ont.) contributed with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists while sophomore Didi Mukendi (St. Catharines, Ont.) added 14 points and five assists in the victory.

Leading the Lancers was Isaac Kuon who led all scorers with a game high 25 points. Also in double digits were Matt Handsor with 13 points and Nigel Johnson -Tyghter, Justin Wiltshire and Andre Smyth who all registered 10 points each.

The Badgers shot a season high 51.5% (34-for-66) from the field including 47.4% (9-for-19) from beyond the arc. Windsor shot 46.0% (29-for-63).

Brock's next action is Wednesday, January 27th at 8pm when they play host to the Laurier Golden Hawks at the Bob Davis Gymnasium. That night is THINK PINK Breast Cancer Awareness Night and the Jason Pearson Scholarship Game.
