BROCK NOTES

Mukendi to lead 2009-10 squad


The 2009-10 Brock Badgers wil be led by Didi Mukendi, 2008-09 OUA and CIS Rookie of the Year.
Last season Mukendi became the first rookie to lead the team in scoring since head coach Ken Murray in 1972-73.

Badgers have strong local flavour


The Badgers have seven players from Niagara Region including Didi Mukendi, Joel Whitty, Jay Fleming, Andrew Ferguson, Phil Ramirez, Anto Raic and Adom Bonzi-Simpson

Strong 2009-10 recruiting class


The Badgers added a strong recruiting class this season led by London natives Clinton Springer-Williams and Brian Nahimana. Other key newcomers include true freshmen Riley Halpin, Anto Raic, Andrew Cicuttini, and Nathan Samuels.

Four victories versus NCAA opponents in 2007-08

During the CIS National Championship Season the Badgers defeated four NCAA schools with their last victory coming December 30, 2007 versus Minot State (98-88). The other three victories came over North Florida, Air Force and Juniata.

2009 NCAA Division II National Championship

won on a buzzer beater in overtime (Tyler Evans)

Perfect 36-0 in 2008-09


It is the best mark in the history of NCAA Division II basketball. The 36 wins are the most ever at the DII level for a national champion.
