Late comeback not enough as Badgers drop 60-59 decision to Queen's

KINGSTON, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team (3-5 OUA West) put together a run in the fourth quarter before dropping a one point decision 60-59 to the Queen's Gaels Saturday night on the road.

Brock found themselves down by 16 after one quarter (19-3) adding a season low three points in the first ten minutes. Going into the fourth quarter, Brock trailed 44-32 before going on a late run which would fall just short.

Brock was led by freshman standout Clinton Springer-Williams (London, Ont.) who led all scorers with 22 points going 9-for-15 from the field.

Sophomores Didi Mukendi (St. Catharines, Ont.) and Joel Whitty (St. Catharines) both contributed with nine points each while freshman Anto Raic (Welland, Ont.) also added nine points going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.

Queen's had three starters in double figures led by Mitch Leger who recorded the double-double adding 19 points and 11 rebounds. Also in double digits for the Gaels were Baris Ondul and Dan Bannister who contributed with 17 and 12 points respectively.

The Badgers next action is December 28th-30th when they take part in the University of Montreal Holiday Tournament before opening the second half of the OUA season at home on January 6th when they host the Waterloo Warriors.
