Lake Erie College rolls past Badgers 83-55

OHIO - The Brock University men's basketball team ended 2008 with an 83-55 loss to Lake Erie College on the road Monday night. The Badgers were without starters Joel Whitty and Didi Mukendi.

The Badgers trailed by 12 midway through the first half before bringing it within four points at the half trailing 37-33.

In the second half, Lake Erie went on an 18-2 run over a seven minute span to go up by 20 points 55-35 with just over 13 minutes left in the contest.

Brock shot just 30.6% 19-for-62 from the field, including a dismal 13.0% (3-for-23) from beyond the arc. Lake Erie finished the game shooting 43.3% (29-for-67) from the field.

For the Badgers, freshman Michael Williams (Brampton, Ont.) recorded his first career double-double finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Owen White (Port Hope, Ont.) added eight points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Joe Kendrick (New Minas, NS) and freshman Ian Mackinnon (Fort Erie, Ont.) recorded seven points each in the loss.
