Men's Basketball drops 85-66 decision to Ryerson
TORONTO, Ont. - The Brock University men's basketball team (4-4
OUA West) ended the first half of the regular season with an 85-66
loss to the Ryerson Rams Saturday afternoon on the road. This was
Brock's fourth consecutive loss.
Midway through the first quarter with the Badgers trailing by four
(12-8), Ryerson would connect on five of their next six shots,
including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, to take a 25-11 lead.
In the fourth quarter, Brock trailed by eight points (65-57) with
just under nine minutes left. Ryerson then went on a 20-4 run over
the next seven minutes, leading by as many as 24 points 85-61.
Freshman Didi Mukendi (St. Catharines, Ont.) led all scorers with a
game high 26 points. Senior Owen White (Port Hope, Ont.) added 12
points and eight rebounds in the loss.
Leading Ryerson was Boris Bakovic with 19 points. Joseph Imbrogno,
Josh Budd and Ryan McNeilly all contributed with 14 points each in
the victory.
Brock shot just 32.1% (17-for-53) for the game, while Ryerson was
49.2% (30-for-61) from the field including 9-for-20 (45.0%) from
three point land.
