Mukendi and Scriver named Henley Honda Brock Athletes of the Week
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Male and Female
Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 9th are men's
basketball player Didi Mukendi (St. Catharines, Ont.) and women's
soccer player Tiffany Scriver (Burlington, Ont.).
Mukendi, a first year Kinesiology major, helped lead the Brock
men's basketball team to a 2-0 record to open the 2008-09 OUA
regular season. In two games he averaged 18.0 points, 7.0 rebounds,
4.5 assists and 5.5 steals per game.
Scriver, a fifth year Psychology major, helped lead the Brock
women's soccer team to a silver medal finish at the 2008 CIS
National Championships. In three games, Scriver posted a 2-1 record
with a 0.67 GAA including a shutout against the No. 1 nationally
ranked Montreal Carabins. For her outstanding performance she was
named the CIS All-Tournament team goalkeeper. She was also named
Game MVP versus Montreal and Trinity Western.
Scriver ends her career first in ever school record, highlighted by
32 career shutouts, 29 career wins and a 0.54 career goals against
average.
