Svidnytskiy Takes Individual Men's Epee Gold at OUAs
Brock University men's fencer Tim Svidnytskiy had a spectacular day in the individual men's epee competition at the 2010 OUA Championships. He was undefeated in the initial round robin bouts. He then went on to direct elimination and defeated Danny Jang of Queens 15-8 and Liam Roach of RMC 15-14. Svidnytskiy took home the individual gold and the Robert Desjarlais Trophy by defeating last year's OUA champion Mark Jones from Western 15-11 in the finals.
Ken Dalton placed 13th overall after recording 2 wins and 5 losses in the initial morning round robin bouts.
In the Men's Epee team event, Brock defeated Carlton to finishing 5th overall.
During the women's events on Sunday, Brock's Chantell Louwerse (Women's Foil) and Kate Childs (Women's Sabre) competed. Louwerse had a 4 win 3 loss record in initial round robin bouts, finally loosing by a single hit to Chantel Boucher from RMC finishing 9th overall. In her first finals, Childs posted a 1 win and 6 loss record in initial round robin bouts finishing 13th overall.
