Brock baseball knocked out of OUA Championships

WATERLOO, Ont. - The Brock University baseball team (15-6 OUA, 21-10 overall) lost 14-4 to Laurier and 10-7 to Western at the OUA Baseball Championship Tournament in Waterloo on Saturday.

With the losses, the Badgers were eliminated from the tournament to end their 2011 season.

Against Laurier, Badgers sophomore starter Kurtis Robinson (Mississauga, Ont.) took the loss allowing four runs in four innings of work. Pitcher Jason Champ (London, Ont.) allowed six runs in three innings and Tyler Harrison (Mississauga, Ont.) gave up four runs in two innings of relief.

Badgers sophomore and OUA All-Star Team member Shaun Valeriote (Guelph, Ont.) went 1-for-4 with a double. Senior Cameron Graham (Sarnia, Ont.) also collected one hit and two RBIs.

Laurier pitcher Brett Van Pelt threw a complete-game while allowing three hits.

The boxscore for the Brock versus Western game was not published.

The Badgers finish the 2011 season with a 21-10 overall record. This was the 12th time in the programs 17-year history that they have recorded 20 plus wins in a season. They also reached a program milestone on October 9th with their 400th career victory.
