Baseball look towards opening weekend
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - With tonight's games against Genesee
cancelled due to minor league playoffs taking over Dwyer Park, the
Brock Badgers set their sights towards their home opening weekend
that gets underway this Friday. With five games in three days, plus
alumni day festivities this weekend will be a busy one for all
involved with Brock Baseball.
Friday evening the Badgers will start the weekend off with a
single game against the Canadian Thunderbirds 19 and under team at
7:30pm.
Saturday will be the biggest day for the Badgers and their
baseball program, as they will hold their third annual Alumni Day,
which will feature an alumni softball game, as well as a Badgers
doubleheader against arch rival McMaster. The alumni softball game
will begin at noon and will feature former Badgers from all 15
previous years of Badgers baseball glory. Game one of the
doubleheader will start at 4pm, in between games former Badger Ryan
Langdon will perform on the field.
On Sunday afternoon the Badgers will look to finish their big
weekend on a high note as they play host to the OUA's newest
baseball team, the Queens Golden Gaels, in a doubleheader that will
begin at 1pm.
Come out and support the team as they look to start their regular
season off on a strong note this weekend. All games will be played
at Community Park on Seymour Avenue, off of Merritt Street.
