2010-11 STUDENT TRAINER STAFF LIST

Welcome Student Athletic Trainers!

The 2010-2011 school year promises to be an exciting year for all our student athletic trainers. With success comes a lot of hard work and we put in a lot of extra time in to help our teams achieve success! We received a lot of positive feedback from both the coaches and the varsity athletes regarding the excellent service they received from both the clinic staff and the student trainers.

This year we will see a mixture of returning trainers and new ones. We had a lot of people apply for trainer positions this year and we were able to select very enthusiastic new students with outstanding backgrounds. Our goal is to help Brock Athletes achieve success! No task is too small in providing our athletes the service required to be their best. Whether it is filling up water bottles, taping ankles, providing on-field emergency care, acute injury treatment or just providing support on the sidelines, we must do it enthusiastically with a smile!

As student athletic trainers you will learn valuable clinical and field skills while working as part of our team. Whether you aspire to be a teacher, coach, athletic therapist, physiotherapist, massage therapist, clinical kinesiologist, paramedic, chiropractor, or a medical physician, your training as a student athletic trainer will help you make decisions about your future career choice. Many of our graduating student trainers from last year are furthering their studies in heath care programs at various institutions. We wish them the best and look forward to the day they graduate and become health care providers or professionals within their community.

We are very proud of the contribution that our student athletic trainers make to this university. The job of a student athletic trainer takes time, energy, and a willingness to learn and serve. Time management and decision-making, are two of the lifelong skills that are quickly learned by the student athletic trainers. The expectations of student athletic trainers are demanding while at the same time rewarding. The bar has been set by our student trainers' outstanding contributions in the past. We must strive to continue to meet and exceed the current standards put forth by our previous student trainers.

We would like to welcome our returning student athletic trainers and our new students. We hope the training and experience you receive, as student athletic trainers will provide you with the knowledge and skills to help launch your career in your chosen profession.
