Student Job Opportunities for 2010-11

First Year Students:

10 - hour volunteer opportunities with specific sports, such as lacrosse, soccer, rugby, cross country, etc.

Second Year Students:

potential positions for 10-20 hours of volunteer experience IF it is linked to a course requirement

Third & Fourth Year Students:

1 - Game Day Managers (paid positions - $2,000.00 per year)

for the sports of hockey, basketball and volleyball

2 - Assistant Game Day Managers (unpaid) 

can be used as an independent study SPMA 3P99 or SPMA 4P99 for course credit - and you would be first in line to obtain the Game Day Manager position the following year)

3 - Assistant Sports Information Officer (paid - $4,000.00 per year)

assist in managing the social and print media (such as the website, posting game scores and stories, bulletin board notices to advertise events, webcast, game results, rinkboards, promotional gimmicks and giveaways, etc.). Evening and weekend work required.

4 - Rowing Manager (unpaid) 

running the Brock invitational regatta (a great way to build your event management resume!)

5 - Assistant to the Athletic Director & Assistant Athletic Director

(2-positions; unpaid - but could be used as an SPMA 3P99 or SPMA 4P99 independent study credit) 

running OUA or CIS championships hosted at Brock University, special events, the athletic banquet, sport tournaments such as the volleyball invitational or fensing invitational)

6 - Sport Specific Opportunites in baseball and men's hockey (unpaid)

can be used as an SPMA 3P99 or SPMA 4P99 independent study credit
