Woodside and Springer-Williams named Henley Honda Brock Athletes of the Week
ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Henley Honda Athletes
of the Week for the week ending January 31st are women's basketball
player Hillary Woodside (Fall River, NS) and men's basketball
player Clinton Springer-Williams (London, Ont.).
Woodside, a third year Kinesiology major, helped lead the Brock women's basketball team to a 2-0 record this past week with victories over Laurier and McMaster. In two games, Woodside averaged 17.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She recorded a season high 20 points versus Laurier and a career high 11 rebounds against Guelph. She was also 6-for-12 (50.0%) from beyond the arc adding to her team leading 45.3% (24-for-53) from three-point range.
Springer-Williams, a first year Psychology major, helped lead the Brock men's basketball team to a 1-1 record this past week including a come from behind 57-56 victory over the Guelph Gryphons. In two games, Springer-Williams averaged 21.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 58.3% from the field (14-for-24). He continues to lead all rookies in OUA and CIS scoring averaging 20.1 points per game.
