Schwark and Fickel named Pioneer Petroleums OUA Athletes of the Week

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - A pair of Brock Badgers have been named Pioneer Petroleums Ontario University Athletics (OUA) Athletes of the Week for the period ending December 5, 2010.

Each Pioneer Petroleums OUA Athlete of the Week will receive a $25 gift card and a dri-fit T-shirt, courtesy of Pioneer Petroleums.

Schwark, a third year Business Economics major, helped lead the Brock men's hockey team to a 1-1 record this past week which included a 5-3 victory over the No. 10 ranked University of Waterloo Warriors. Versus Waterloo, Schwark had his best game of his university career registering a career high four points including his first career hat trick and the game winning goal. 

Fickel, a first year Biomedical Sciences major, helped lead the No. 6 ranked Brock women's hockey team to wins over the Waterloo Warriors and the No. 2 ranked Laurier Golden Hawks this past week. Fickel recorded both game winning goals. Friday night versus Waterloo, she recorded her fifth goal of the season in the 1-0 victory. Saturday afternoon, Fickel scored the biggest goal of her young career beating 2009-10 CIS Player of the Year Liz Knox in shootout as the Badgers knocked off the Golden Hawks.
