Schwark and Fickel named Brock Athletes of the Week

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending December 5th are men's hockey player Adam Schwark (Saskatoon, Sask) and women's hockey player Jessica Fickel (Fort Erie, Ont.).

Schwark, a third year Business Economics major, helped lead the Brock men's hockey team to a 1-1 record this past week which included a 5-3 victory over the No. 10 ranked University of Waterloo Warriors. Versus Waterloo, Schwark had his best game of his university career registering a career high four points including his first career hat trick and the game winning goal. 

Fickel, a first year Biomedical Sciences major, helped lead the No. 6 ranked Brock women's hockey team to wins over the Waterloo Warriors and the No. 2 ranked Laurier Golden Hawks this past week. Fickel recorded both game winning goals. Friday night versus Waterloo, she recorded her fifth goal of the season in the 1-0 victory. Saturday afternoon, Fickel scored the biggest goal of her young career beating 2009-10 CIS Player of the Year Liz Knox in shootout as the Badgers knocked off the Golden Hawks.
