Valeriote and Maric named Brock Athletes of the Week

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 5th are baseball player Shaun Valeriote (Guelph, Ont.) and women's rugby player Misha Maric (Toronto, Ont.).

Valeriote, a first year Sport Management major, led the Brock baseball team to a 7-1 record this past week finishing with an impressive .522 average (12-for-23) and .913 slugging percentage while adding three doubles, two homeruns, 12 RBI, 16 runs scored and six stolen bases in his first week as a Badger.

Maric, a second year Kinesiology major, helped lead the Brock women's rugby team to a 1-1-1 record at the York Invitational Tournament. In three games, Maric led the Badgers offense registering 19 points adding two tries, three conversions and one penalty kick.
