Toale and Maric named Brock Athletes of the Week

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - The Brock University Male and Female Athletes of the Week for the week ending September 19th are men's soccer player Ryan Toale (Brampton, Ont.) and women's rugby player Misha Maric (Toronto, Ont.).

Toale, a second year history major, helped lead the Brock men’s soccer team to their first two victories of the season. In two games he recorded 12 saves with a 0.50 GAA. Versus No. 10 ranked Laurier, Toale registered a game high eight saves for the shutout. He made two spectacular saves, including one in the first half where he was fully outstretched to his left to hold the 1-0 lead. Late in the second half, with Laurier controlling the play, Toale would come up with a game saving stop to secure the victory. For his performance he earned Brock Player of the Game honours.

Maric, a second year Kinesiology major, led the Brock women's rugby team to a 37-0 shutout over the Laurier Golden Hawks. She led all scorers with a career high 17 points including two tries, two converts and a penalty goal.
